Tutsan (Year 5&6)
Welcome to Tutsan Class!
Welcome to Tutsan Class! We are Year 5 & 6 and our teacher is Mrs Tully and Mrs Foord help us with our learning.
This year, our classes are named after plants that grow nearby on Breamore Marsh. Tutsan - from the French words toute saine, meaning all healthy - is a beautiful green shrub with delicate yellow flowers. It was used by the druids for medicinal purposes as it has antiseptic properties.

Class Reading
Every half term, we read a quality text as a class.
Parents are given the opportunity to purchase the book and have it delivered to school from The Fordingbridge Bookshop; we are proud to support local businesses. The children gain a lot from reading along together and we find that they really enjoy these sessions and are often asking to, "Just read one more chapter..."

Discover Term - Autumn 2024
Should We Accept Our Place In Society
This autumn, we are exploring the project 'Should we accept our place in society?' through our key concepts of Equality and Justice. This term will have a history and art focus, leading to an Ignite Speech Evening Event at school, where the children will be giving individual 'Ted Talk' style speeches related to the learning they have done this term. We will also be showcasing our Landscape Artwork and Screen Printing pieces in a Gallery Room. There will be mince pies and hot drinks to enjoy.
During our project, we will be exploring The Titanic, WW1 and WW2, Suffrage, Apartheid, Propaganda and oppression the answer to the over-arching question of, 'Should we accept our place in society?"
