A foundation for life

Rosehip Class Yr2

Welcome to Rosehip Class!

Our class is named Rosehip after the beautiful red berries that grow around our school field.  As well as looking beautiful, they have lots of use for medicine as well as providing food for the birds and wildlife! Each week we enjoy taking part in Forest School where we spend time outside learning about the plants and wildlife in our school grounds.

Explore: Do we always appreciate what we've got? Science and Geography are the central subjects for this project. See the Parent Project Map below for the exciting learning we have planned for this Spring term!

Our English Texts for Spring 2024

Our class teacher is Mrs Silver

About our class: Our teacher is Mrs Silver.  She loves music, theatre, exploring the countryside and her dream is to own a dog one day!  She loves to read us books - some of her favourite stories are the Rabbit and Bear stories by Julian Gough and The Owl Who was Afraid of the Dark by Jill Tomlinson.

On Tuesday afternoons we have Forest School - please remember to bring your outdoor clothes and wellies for lots of learning outdoors!

Each Wednesday and Friday we have PE.  Please  wear your PE kits to school on those days.

We also have Welcome Wednesday at the beginning of the day when parents are welcome to join us to share books and stories - one of our favourite parts of the week!

On Thursdays we welcome ALL the children in Year 2 from the Federation to do lots of activities together. Mrs M from Hale school joins us on Thursdays too.  We love seeing our friends from the other schools and sharing our learning together!

If you have any questions or concerns about school, please get in touch with Mrs Silver via email or through the school office.  It's always much easier to stop any worries by having a quick chat!
